The MIGS team is very excited to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website. After months of work including design, development, and content writing we are pleased to officially launch today, 08 June 2020. We wanted to make a website that was faster, easier to navigate and more user-friendly.
Websites are, or at least should be, relatively self-explanatory, so if you’d like to jump in and check it out, start your journey here, but for those interested, we’d like to take this opportunity to share some of the new features and content we are particularly excited about!
First off, we now have a dedicated page for our most important projects. The list is far from exhaustive, and once you start scrolling, you will see why. MIGS has been around a long time, working tirelessly on a wide range of issues affecting women’s lives.
We decided to pick out a representative sample of projects we’ve carried out that are centred on the promotion of women’s rights and gender equality; we also made freely available a vast bank of our resources, including research findings, reports, guides and other publications in our newly overhauled section – Publications.
Next, we created dedicated pages that talk about our thematic areas of work and our multi-layered approach. Even if you are a long-time collaborator or a partner organisation relatively familiar with the areas we focus on, and how go about working on them, it’s worth giving these sections a look. As an ever-developing institution, what we’ve covered in the last two decades may surprise you.
We are also frequently contacted by passionate individuals and organisations that have heard about our mission and vision and wanted to be a part of it. We are thankful and humbled by the consistent outpouring of support and solidarity, and in response have crafted a more detailed page showing exactly how to get involved.
There are many other small innovations we incorporated in our new website, but the final one we’ll mention are the visuals. Some time ago, we commissioned a wonderful feminist artist called Aleksandra Panić, to create powerful images for our organisation, which we have featured in many elements of our visual identity. Overhauling our website seemed a perfect opportunity to redeploy these bright, hopeful images that reflect our organisational look & feel. We hope you like them too.
We want to extend our thanks to our partners, colleagues and supporters over the years, and especially to the Mediterranean Women’s Fund who believed in the importance of an impactful digital presence and gave us the grant which made it possible to build this site.
So what’s next? Simply put, we invite you to come in and have a look around! Bookmark, share and give us your feedback on our contact page. We would love to hear from you!
